New cafes and restaurants keep opening across the city. We wanted one place that tells you, honestly, which ones are worth your money. So we built it.

Four ideas behind every score.
The bill matters.
A great meal at the wrong price is still a bad deal. Price and portion size are rated on their own.
Hype should be checked.
Diners tell us whether a place lived up to its buzz. That gap between hype and reality is what Yaafta shows.
Trust can't be bought.
Restaurants can't pay for reviews, edit them or remove them. Every score comes from diners.

Was it worth the money? Generous portions, or shrinkflation?

How were the staff, the atmosphere and the seating?
Hype
Is it as good as everyone says? Diners pick from five options, from Overhyped to Underhyped, so a higher score means the place is better than its buzz.
One Yaafta Score. It is the average of the four ratings, taken from Yaafta members. Each one is rated separately, so a great room can't hide a weak plate.

No restaurant can pay for a review or a better score.
Paid placements accepted to date: 0
- Real accounts only. Writing a review needs a Google sign-in. That ties each review to an account, which makes fake and anonymous reviews harder. It doesn't guarantee an opinion is accurate.
- Reviews stay the reviewer's. Restaurants can't rewrite, edit or remove them.
- Outside ratings stay separate. Where a listing shows a Google rating, it comes from Google and isn't part of the Yaafta Score.

What is Yaafta?
Yaafta is an independent restaurant guide for Karachi. Diners rate each place on taste, value, vibe and hype separately, so you can see whether it is worth your money before you go.
How is Yaafta different from Google reviews?
Google shows one overall star rating. Yaafta splits it into four scores and shows whether a place lived up to its hype. Restaurants can't pay for a Yaafta review or score, and where a listing shows a Google rating, it is kept separate from the Yaafta Score.
Is Yaafta free to use?
Yes. Browsing and searching are free. Writing a review needs a Google sign-in so every review comes from a real account.
